From October 2006 to June 2007, the Bosch subsidiary BBT Thermotechnik is implementing a wide range of activities to promote energy saving. In addition to a sales competition, the “e-program” features energy saving days in Buderus branches and poster advertising on billboards and local public transport buses.
The sales competition that forms part of the “e-program” is targeted at heating installation firms. During the course of the campaign – from October 1, 2006 to February 28, 2007 – heating firms can collect points selling and installing Buderus heating systems. The number of points is based on the maximum energy-cost-saving potential of the installed heat generator over a conventional boiler. The greater the energy saving, the more points awarded, and the greater the chance of winning a Mercedes A-Class for a year. A condensing boiler that offers saving potential of up to 30 percent gains 30 points, for example, while a heat pump that offers saving potential of up to 50 percent gains 50 points. Ten cars per branch area (in other words, 480 for the whole of Germany) await contestants and will be awarded to the winners in spring 2007.
Buderus will be addressing customers and trade visitors directly at the energy saving days held between September and December 2006 and at the follow-up to the ISH trade fair from mid-March to the end of June 2007. The events will take place at the 48 Buderus branches throughout Germany. Buderus is offering customers specific incentives. Customers who consult a Buderus associate at a partner day will receive a consultation check worth €150. They can cash this in by ordering a Buderus heating system within six months of the consultation and having it installed by a heating installation firm.
Buderus aims to grab the general public’s attention with outdoor poster advertising. In fall 2006 and spring 2007, Buderus’s energy saving campaign will feature on roughly 3,000 billboard posters across Germany. It will also be advertised on the rear of buses used in local public transport. These “adverts on wheels” can be seen from September 2006 to March 2007.
