The energy efficiency of heating systems and hot-water solutions is not just increasingly attracting the attention of property developers and house purchasers and owners. Programs for efficient energy use are now at the top of the political agenda in many countries. In particular, the potential for savings in supplying hot water for buildings is enormous. Accordingly, the social importance of this topic has increased significantly, as have the opportunities for growth for the thermotechnology sector that result from this, making energy efficiency the “key topic” for the coming years.
BBT Thermotechnik GmbH shows in a new image film and on its website what solutions for efficient energy use for heating and hot water the company offers. The film uses descriptions by scientist and astronaut Prof. Walter to raise awareness for sustainable use of energy resources and shows example projects from several countries. On its web pages, the key theme “Using energy more efficiently” provides information on the significance attached to the topic at BBT Thermotechnik GmbH and on energy-efficient processes and products. As well as background information on laws and regulations, consumers also receive specific information on building energy advisors and energy passes, which assess the energy efficiency of buildings.
The Kyoto Protocol came into force two years ago on February 16, 2005. In this United Nations international climate protection agreement, numerous industrial nations and emerging markets undertook to reduce emissions of the six “Kyoto greenhouse gases” from 2008 to 2012 by a total of five percent of the 1990 figure. The EU is also pursuing a comprehensive strategy to boost energy efficiency and the use of renewables, aiming to fulfill the obligations entered into in the Kyoto Protocol. In the thermotechnology sector, the EU Directive on the overall energy efficiency of buildings and the EU Directive on the “eco-design of energy-using products” are of primary importance. With the growing emphasis being placed on the energy efficiency issue, BBT Thermotechnik is looking to show how and with what solutions it can help achieve the aims of the Kyoto Protocol and the European Union.
