Improving medical aid
On average, 2,400 children are born each month in the Fabella Hospital in Manila (Philippines). The need for medical aid is commensurately high. That is reason enough for Bosch to provide support for a new intensive care unit for children and to improve the conditions for ensuring healthy births. Since the Fabella Hospital opened the new unit at the start of 2007, the infant mortality rate at the clinic has fallen by 25 percent. In cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung, we also provide financial aid for other hospitals in the Philippines. As part of our “Spark of life” program, we donate one peso to medical institutions and programs for each spark plug sold.
